Orphan’s Heart – Malnutrition Center (Guatemala)

“Our mission is to provide Christ-centered services to vulnerable children and struggling families.“

– Orphan’s Heart

Project Description

Recovery Center

Whether it’s providing clean diapers to a newborn baby, food for a hungry child, safety for an abused child, or foster or adoptive homes to children in crisis, we work to share with children who have been abandoned, neglected or abused the healing love of Jesus.

As we reflect on all the years we have been able to help children with thankfulness and awe, we look forward to a future filled with hope for every child in need!

We are passionate about continuing to help One More Child locally and globally. It’s simple, really: Love Changes Lives.

With respect to services rendered, One More Child is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as compliance with all applicable federal and state discrimination laws.

Final details of the 2,500 sq. ft. renovation to the “Canaries Room” are in process as we enter the month of August.  Orphan’s Heart has used a series of missions groups and local tradesman to equip this room to serve children recovering from advanced levels of malnutrition. New installations include all the elements developed in the design addressing hygiene, food preparation and recreation requirements.  The suite now has air conditioning, new windows and  new cubicles.  All under a new ceiling, the uncluttered space brings light deep into the large rooms to reflect the hope that is communicated through the work of staff and volunteers that operate this center every day.

On a hill in the city of San Juan de Sacatepequez, Guatemala, a medical facility is reviving and fully recuperating fragile children recovering from severe malnutrition.   Orphan’s Heart uses the old tuberculosis hospital to reach out to families with malnourished children through intensive activities with both the children and their parents.  Attracting many families from remote isolated regions, the children are admitted to recuperate minimal levels of nutrition.
