Orphan Home

Fundraising continues under the leadership of One More Child to keep the construction advancing and excitement in the fixed eyes of these young girls. This home transmits stability and hope for the current young girls currently in the care of Small Steps for Compassion and host activities spaces for 35 children living in future adjacent houses. The 11 acre site is nestled among rural communities that now proudly claim the organization’s facility and participate in it’s development and growth.  A multi-phased master plan addresses needs of providing potable water, primary health care, local small business growth, and recreation.  The work has only begun, but the excitement brings smiles to everyone. One More Child and Small Steps for Compassion and are committed to confronting the challenge of orphaned children in Tanzania.  With native staff and roots in local communities, the organization is expanding activities desiring to fully incorporate an 11 acre property outside the city of Arusha nestled in the communities of the Ngongongare Village.

The house is weeks away from becoming a home for the young girls that already live on the property. Cabinet design is underway to activate the large kitchen that will serve up to 30 children.  The doors and windows that provide strong symbols of security and refuge to an orphan were installed in the early days of June.
