“Our vision is to bring hope to hurting children, to show that the love of Jesus changes lives and to impact the life of one more child.“
Florida Baptist Children’s Home
Project Description
More than 60 children have already moved, inaugurating their new home after more than 2 years of living in provisional housing since 2010 earthquake. The first children’s home and director’s house were put in the hands of Haitian Pastor and orphanage director in August 2013. Equipped with a master plan that map out homes 2 and 3, the work in Haiti continues under native leadership. This ministry pushes forward serving to develop the next generation in an environment cultivating hope and restoration.
In November 2011, Third Lens entered into a partnership with Orphan’s Heart to assist in the construction of an orphanage in Haiti. Orphan’s Heart is an international childcare program that was established by the Florida Baptist Children’s Homes in 2008. First steps that started this amazing journey to serve together began with a survey team of board members from Third Lens travelling to Bon Repos to gather construction site information, local means and methods and build relationships with the in-country missionaries. Upon their return, the Third Lens team began working on the design of the orphanage and piecing together the master plan for the construction site.
And a special thanks to Lou Davis and Ron Gunter with Orphan’s Heart for all their hard work and dedication to seeing this project through.
