The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
Psalm 19:7,8
Although rain was falling the entire day, innovation, resolve, and joyful hearts brought individuals together to serve an Atlanta neighbor. The Third Lens service team assisted the ministry of Wilderness Works through the initiative of Serve ATL to build an exterior ramp to the aging building on Memorial Rd in the Cabbagetown neighborhood.
Wilderness Works is a youth development agency serving homeless and disadvantaged children in Dekalb and Fulton counties. Using recreational activities, staff and volunteers seek to touch their hearts through recreational activities that pour love into them and present them with unique opportunities. Director Bill Mickler explained that summer camp will be a life changing experience for them that permanently opens their eyes to new opportunities, places, and people.
This ramp will serve to access the area protecting and dispensing bikes that are used for regular cycle outings. While the elements prevented the team from wrapping a couple details, the effort made by all was an encouragement and refreshed the soul. Keep an eye out for the TL Fall service opportunity and those upcoming details.
