Plywood People – (Atlanta, GA)

September 9, 2020 by Jamie

“… a nonprofit in Atlanta leading a community of startups doing good.”

– Plywood People, Project Partner

Project Description

Plywood People is a non-profit in Atlanta leading a community of start-ups doing good. In the last five years, we have worked with over 450 of the leaders making our world a better place to live. As I look into the next five years, I see us serving over 1000 new projects that help people. This next phase will not happen without a home

From the front door to the back, every square foot of this place will have a story. From tables designed through training programs to coffee that shares stories of the world, from mural inspirational quotes displayed on walls that were spoken at our gatherings to screens looping problems being solved by people throughout our community. If and when you walk into this place it must inspire you to go back to where you call home and make it better. This place will be an entrepreneurial training center where ideas are shaped, where stories are experienced, where mentoring transpires and where people find community. People will come here to make a difference out there. Plywood Place will cause others to dream in unimaginable new ways. Plywood Place needs you to make this dream come to life.

Scope of Work:  Design Management and Construction Management

Project Manager(s):

Brian O’Neil, Third Lens

Industry Partner(s):

The next Plywood Place will collide and spark new, unexpected directions for doing good. The creative process is never final—but always challenges the status quo.

The space takes on new dimensions in a literal sense, moving from 2,000 to 10,0000 square feet. It also sustains a variety of experiences that allow for a seamless feedback loop for people doing good. With areas for quiet focus, collaborative thinking, consulting and creating, solutions to global problems acquire new dimensions as perspectives expand. Plywood Place’s new form invites and encourages people to extend their thinking about how to do good. A place is always defined by the people and this place will let us work with more people like these friends.
