How to Help Children Without Abandoning Families
Children referred by the Salvadoran government as abused and abandoned are reconnected to families through La Casa de Mi Padre. This Christian ministry is a leader in a paradigm shift that restores lives without creating an institution that replaces family. Currently being considered by National Child Services in El Salvador as a model program, Third Lens is impassioned to partner with them and eager to break ground on a permanent home for this ministry outside of the capital San Salvador.
The heart of their ministry is expressed by organizational leadership in this quote:
Our goal is to provide a loving family atmosphere for our children to grow and experience family life, with the desire that they would choose to turn the tides on generational patterns and want to model their own family in very different way. However, that doesn’t change the deep desire within each of their hearts to know their family. We have made extensive efforts to find family and begin to work with them to bring about healing and set future generations on a different course.
